Hey Oloni, basically my issue is my boyfriend doesn’t like me to wear certain clothes which he deems revealing. For example anything tight, short or showing cleavage. His reasoning is that it’s private, he doesn’t want me to draw too much attention cos it makes him feel uncomfortable when other guys stare/say I have a bum etc & that I already look beautiful without exposing my body. This issue has come up a few times, plus i’d like to add – he likes IG pics of women wearing ‘revealing’ clothes (which I think is hypocritical), his excuse being that he wouldn’t date them. What’s the solution here? 1. February 2018

He’s being controlling and it’s not okay, if you feel comfortable dressing that way (especially if it’s no different to how you dressed before you met) then he needs to back off. Men will always compliment or talk about how you look even if you wear a turtle neck. It’s also hypocritical of him, especially if his activity of likes, on Instagram is a log of IG baddies. Talk to him and see if anything changes.

Hi Oloni, thanks for answering my question in advance. I’m black guy that’s recently moved down to London from Middlesbrough. I went from being one of a few ethnics to one of many here and I love it lol. Basically I’m single and I wanted some tips on where I can meet and chat to single black girls as I haven’t had much luck recently. Twitter has helped me a bit and I was even able to find your platform and some podcasts which I love btw. The game here is not like up North and I feel like Londoners in general are quite rude and to themselves which is the opposite of what I’m used to so any advice you can give will help me loads. 1. February 2018

Hey love, are we really rude? Haha I apologise. There’s so many ways to meet amazing black people. You cnan try meetup.com, BYP, Bumble, Happn, eventbrite. If you’re part of the black UK twitter community, you’ll know there are always events happening so keep an eye out.

Good luck.

February 6th my love.

Hi Oloni, my boyfriend of 2 years wants me to have his kids before he marries me. Btw we are both young (22&25) so we don’t wanna get married in the next 3 years. I find this very strange seeing as he is from a very conservative Yoruba family and I know that’s not how things are done. Is this a red flag or nah? 1. February 2018

Having babies before getting married really isn’t a big deal anymore. But if you feel like you’re too young and against it, then simply say, “no” and express you’d rather be married first.

Hi Oloni!….I’d like to know after how many dates is it appropriate to go to a guy’s house? 1. February 2018

I would say three proper dates. Also give his address to friends.
