Shopping Trips & Fitting Room Tips
Us girls can shop and when I say “shop”, we literally walk into endless stores until we find what we are looking for. However, this can be a bit of a chore, so here I am to give you some tips to make your life a little easier. Ready to learn?
- Wear comfortable and easy to take off clothes.
Ever gone out for a shopping trip with the girls whilst looking ultra stylish, but had to go through a work out to remove your clothes and put them back on? Yes we have all been there. By wearing comfortable and easy to pull off clothes you save yourself looking like you’ve been in the gym and this also helps how you look at the garment you are trying on (your hair isn’t everywhere, your makeup is in place). Comfort could mean your fave pair of skinnies or maybe dress you can just pull off. For me I like sports leggings teamed with an oversized jumper, quick simple and easy.
- Wear the right bra OR Just wear a bra.
I know we are going through this “no bra let my nipples hang out for the guys to see” phase but really unless your chest is like a pubescent boy, the clothes you try on will NOT sit correctly on your body. Also when I say, “wear the right bra”, what I mean is wear a bra that makes your breasts look perfect (sitting in the right place, straps adjusted correctly, hooked in the right place). Once your chest is sorted everything you try on will fit perfectly and stay in the right place.
- Carry a small bag
While shopping, your bag count will increase, for some a little but for others A LOT, therefore going shopping with a massive tote/shopper will not work in your favour. Clutches are a huge trend this season and they have all the space you need for essentials, which are;
- Phone
- Money (cash,credit or debit)
- Keys (house and/or car)
- Oyster card
- Makeup bag (includes lipstick/gloss/Vaseline etc.)
On a shopping trip just essentials will do and a clutch can fit nicely under your armpit (so you wont look like a crazy bag lady).
- Comfortable shoes
If you haven’t noticed trainers/slip ons have become the new heel and a designer favourite (see Chanel A/W 14′). Comfort is needed when walking around for hours on end and going in/out of countless shops. The only time a heel should touch your foot is when you’re trying them on. Sometimes fashion isn’t pain.
- When in doubt put it down
Picked something up? Tried it on but still not entirely sure? Put it down! If you’re not completely sold on a piece there is no point in buying it as you probably wont wear it and that will save you wasting your coins, which could be spent on something you really like and possibly need.
- Check the specs
Can you sit down? Put your hands up? Dance? Walk? Bend over? No camel toe? Always make sure you can move as if your were naked in your clothes. Restrictions and uncomfortably will make you feel insecure and uneasy.
No restrictions = complete confidence.
With these 6 tips your are bound to have smooth sailing shopping trips.
