Denim, Denim & More Denim
Denim is popular you say? We would have never thought so, but this year fashion houses such as Stella McCartney, Burberry and Gucci have made it clear that denim should rule the runway way and rule it, denim definitely did.
Denim was worked into mini jackets in deep indigo and soft lavenders teamed with tulle skirts (another 15′ trend) , stitch detailed tunics and even gave the tailoring world a little twist and turn. But lets be honest here, without denim in our lives outfits wouldn’t have that cool, effortless, laid back feel that we all love. Jeans are probably everyone’s go to piece when starting to put an outfit together, whether it’s a casual day, a night out or that hot date we’ve been thinking about all week, denim always sorts out our outfit choices.
Last year we saw the return of double denim, which always seemed like a fashion don’t, but when celebs such as Rihanna and Kim K started adorning this fashion don’t, it instantly became a fashion do, but only with the right denim. Its clear the you cant mix certain denim wash together as it looks far too wrong. The trick to getting double denim worn correctly was to wear washes that were similar to each other, because lets face it, you wouldn’t wear an acid wash denim shirt with a indigo pair of skinnies (just no).
This year denim again is a season trend and probably one our fav trends here at Simply Oloni and what’s not to love about it?
