You need to get down to the bottom of things & ask WHY he behaved how he did, I’d say wait for him to call in any other scenario, but this is/was serious so try to get through to him again. You’re in a relationship with him, you should be able to voice such things. Ask him what he likes, I would say a voucher from his favourite shop however. I’d say remove after a few months.
