Why It’s Important For You To Remove Your Makeup
We are all culprits of sleeping in make-up after a night out, you get in and you’ve had a few drinks and you’re off to bed. This can be bad for your skin as at night it gives your skin time to breathe, so what happens when you sleep in your makeup?
Foundation is thick and is on for the majority of the day if you wear it, the breakdown of the foundation throughout the day is damaging to the skin and the longer its kept on it damages a process called ‘microcirculation’ which helps renew your skin. Leaving foundation on prevents this process and can result in wrinkles and clogged pores which lead to acne.
Lipstick can dehydrate your lips leaving them chapped and needing moisture. Wipe off your lipstick before bed and put on a lip balm or some Vaseline, it’s important to take care of your lips.
Mascara is the most damaging of all, Mascara particles clog the eyelash follicles and irritate them as it would on the skin, this can lead to conjunctivitis and similar infections. Sleeping in mascara can also cause your eyelashes to become brittle and they will break easily.
The best thing to do is keep some make-up wipes beside your bed, and try to keep a skin routine and remove all that makeup!
